YFC Update

Hello

From Monday 1st February the centre is open Monday to Friday.

We are starting the week with Yangi Hub on Monday 1 February. This is an unstructured play session for families with children 0-5 years. A great way to introduce your child to our centre.

Our other Children's Programs will commence in February. Pre-Kindy Orientation sessions will be held next week. All programs then commence the following week starting 8th February. Booking information is available on our website.

Social Sewing returns with our first Saturday session on 6 February. We also have sessions on Mondays and Thursdays with creche available.

This year the Yangebup Community Eats program is being hosted at the family centre. The first one is on Friday 12 February from 6-7pm. Light meal is provided and everyone is welcome.

This year we will be hosting our Chinese New Year event at the Atwell Community Centre on Monday 15 February from 9.30-11am.

Belly Dancing was a great success last year so we are running it again this term. Join Selina for our 6 week program starting 18 February.

Yangi Hub

Yangi Hub is on Monday 1 February from 9.30-11am. This is an unstructured play session for families with children 0-5 years. A great way to introduce your child to our centre. The sessions are held monthly. All welcome. Gold coin donation. No bookings required.

Pre-Kindy

Pre-Kindy Orientation sessions will be held next week with the term commencing 8 February. Our pre-kindy program is based on the early years learning framework. The program offers fun, educational activities that are developmentally appropriate in a semi-structured form. Pre-Kindy is an opportunity for young children to familiarise themselves with classroom routines. Pre-Kindy provides emotional, physical and intellectual development as well as social awareness and interaction skills.

Social Sewing

Social Sewing returns with our first Saturday session on 6 February. We also have sessions on Mondays and Thursdays with creche available.

Come along for sewing and chatting. All levels of sewing experience are welcome but these sessions do not include any formal tuition, so a basic level of experience is recommended. Please bring your own sewing machine and supplies, or we have some machines available for hire. Boomerang Bag kits will be available for those of you who would like to do some community sewing. Creche is available for a fee of $6 per child (3rd child $4). Bookings are essential.

Community Eats

This year the Yangebup Community Eats program is being hosted at the family centre. The first one is on Friday 12 February from 6-7pm. A Light meal is provided and everyone is welcome. This initiative is a partnership between various groups who provide support to the community. We will be providing the first program. If you would like to volunteer at the event please contact Miss Jo in the office.

Chinese New Year

This year we will be celebrating Chinese New Year with an event at the Atwell Community Centre on Monday 15 February from 9.30-11am. Wear your favourite red outfit and join us in celebrating Year of the Ox. There will be plenty of craft and activities to keep little ones entertained. Bookings are essential for this FREE event as space is limited. Please bring a plate of morning tea (nut free) to share.

Belly Dancing

Selina started her belly dance journey in 1998. She attended classes with one of the top belly dance instructors in Perth. She is a certified belly dance instructor and has attended workshops including safe dance practice. The personal benefits gained have been great and many friends made along the way.
Belly dancing is a beautiful art form of exercise and fun for people of all ages. It assists to improve self esteem, confidence, body image, self expression and creativity. Bookings essential.
