Volunteer Awards, Multicultural Feast, Miss Jo celebrates 10 years, 16 Days in WA

From today all visitors will be required to register their details for contact tracing. Install the SAFEWA app and scan the QR code or fill out the paper-based register. More information is available in the foyer or visit SafeWA

We have had a very busy November with lots of events and celebrations happening at the centre including Volunteer Awards, Multicultural Feast, Miss Jo celebrating 10 years and 16 Days in WA.

The centre will close over the Christmas period from Saturday 19 December and reopen on Tuesday 12 January.

We are currently taking enrolments for 2021. More information is available on our website for Occasional Care, Playgroup, Playclub and Pre-Kindy.

Volunteer Awards

The Yangebup Family Centre - Cultural Cooking Program was runner-up in the Volunteer Organisation of the Year Category at the City of Cockburn Inspirational Volunteer Awards last week.

Through cooking we are promoting cultural diversity, friendship, and encouraging volunteers to be involved in the community.

We celebrated our Volunteer Chefs from our Cultural Cooking program at the Multicultural Feast with wonderful cultural dishes to enjoy.

Miss Jo celebrates 10 years

Miss Jo is a valued member of our staff team and community. We appreciate her bringing her passion and caring to the centre for the past 10 years.

We also said a very special thank you to Anna Agnew who has been on the committee for the past five years.

16 Days in WA

Thank you to all of our groups who wore orange to the centre to promote 16 Days in WA to stop violence against women. The Yangebup Leisure Group meets at the centre on Tuesday mornings and welcomes new members.

The annual Stop Violence Against Women campaign runs from November 25, the International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women, to December 10, which is Human Rights Day. This years theme is 'Respect Starts with You'.
Violence against women is never okay. We all have a responsibility to prevent violence, call it out when we see it and provide support to those affected.
