Our Term 3 program has lots coming up in September including Food Sensations for Men, Social Sewing, Boomerang Bags Busy Bee, Kaya Time, Yoga, Saturday Playgroup, and Cultural Cooking. Check out all the details and booking links below.
This August our Centre celebrated 27 years and we invited 50 VIPs to join us for a special event to celebrate our birthday and to launch the Empowering Communities Program and the new kitchen.
On Monday 26 August the Yangebup Family Centre welcomed the Hon Pierre Yang MLC,
Member for South Metropolitan Region, Mayor Logan Howlett and his wife Pat, and Ms Katharine Longley representing Josh Wilson MP, Federal Member for Fremantle together with partners, supporters, community group representatives, volunteers, staff and committee to celebrate the commencement of the Empowering Communities Program and the official launch of the new kitchen.

program is filling up for 2020, get your application in by 20 September. If your child was born between 1 July 2016 and 30 June 2017 you can apply now
Food Sensations for Men is a free 4 week program which starts

Social Sewing is on this Friday and Monday 16
September. Come along for 2.5 hours of sewing and chatting. All levels of sewing experience are welcome but these sessions do not include any formal tuition, so a basic level of experience is recommended. Please bring your own sewing machine and supplies. Boomerang Bag kits will be available for those of you who would like to do some community sewing. Cost is $6 per session. Creche is available for a fee of $6 per child (3rd child $4). Bookings are essential.

September. If you are not a sewist there are plenty of other ways to help. Instructions and assistance will be provided.
Kaya Time is on next Monday 9 September from 9.30-11.30am. Free monthly group for aboriginal families and friends to connect.
No need to book, just come along.
Yoga for stress relief Monday 4.30-5.30pm. Contact Michelle from Yoga Seashells on 0487216313 for more information.
Saturday Playgroup is on the 21 September from 9.30-11.30am. Dads are encouraged to attend. All parents and kids 0-6 years are welcome. The session is facilitated by our staff and includes morning tea and lots of fun activities. Gold coin donation, bookings are
encouraged to assist us with catering.
Our next Cultural Cooking session is on Thursday 26 September. Our
volunteers will share their recipes with you as we go on a culinary journey around the world.
Sessions are held on the last Thursday of the month from 11am-1pm.
Fee $5/person, creche available for $5/child
