Funding Secured

There were cheers all round at the end of last year when we were advised that we were successful in receiving funding for the next five years for the Empowering Communities Program.

The committee and staff would like to thank our wonderful community for all the support given during this uncertain time. The Yangebup Family Centre has been a central community hub for many years and we are so pleased that this will continue into the future.
A big thank you to the fabulous staff and committee for all their hard work and time given.

Science for Girls

The STEM for Girls holiday program started today with more sessions this Wednesday and Friday. The program has been very popular with all sessions fully booked. Thanks to funding from the City of Cockburn through the Cockburn Creates initiative these workshops are being offered at heavily subsided rates.

The program is a partnership between Dandan Ma from Engineering For Kids, Sam Williams from Yangebup Family Centre, community member Sharon Tourtouris and Meerilinga.

Bringing science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM), to girls ages 4 to 14 in a fun and challenging way. We are proud to inspire girls to build on their natural curiosity by teaching engineering concepts through hands-on learning.

We will be offering a Term 1 program from the 19 February - 2 April.

Next Week

Join Miss Jo for a Holiday Play Session on Thursday 24 January from 9.30-11.30am with lots of water play and fun activities. Suitable for children 0-10 years. Bookings are encouraged.

Social Sewing returns for 2019 on Monday 21 January and Friday 1st February. Come along for 2 hours of sewing and chatting. Creche available. Please bring your own sewing machine and supplies. All levels of sewing welcome but these sessions do not offer any formal tuition. Bookings are essential.
