What's New

Thank you for supporting the Yangebup Family Centre in 2018. We have had a very successful year with lots of community initiatives and exciting programs. We are now busy planning for 2019 and look forward to seeing you at the centre very soon!

New Committee

Our Annual General Meeting was held on Tuesday 23 October.

Our previous committee has stepped down and we thank Joni Gephart for her many years on the committee in the role of Treasurer and Vice-Chair.

Community Celebrations

On Saturday 27 October we celebrated some of our Community Initiatives.

We celebrated with the Grand Opening of the Yangebup Street Library. This project has been a wonderful collaboration between Connecting Community For Kids, Bunnings, Cockburn Men's Shed and community volunteers! Thank you to everyone involved, we are so excited to be able to share our love of books with the community. The library is currently inside the centre and has been very busy with people bring and borrowing books. We will be moving the library out onto the verandah very soon!!

We also launched the new Bike Track which was part of the Co-Design Outdoor Project which was supported by our major partners the City of Cockburn, Cockburn Cement and Nathan Abreu from Jason's Painting Service and many local businesses, community organisations and community volunteers. 16 Days in WA

The 16 Days in WA to Stop Violence Against Women campaign will take place from 25 November, the International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women, to 10 December, which is Human Rights Day.
We invite you to make your mark during the 16 Days in WA campaign by wearing orange to programs at the centre next week Monday 26 - Friday 30 November.

January Programs

Office Closure - The Yangebup Family Centre advises that the centre will be closed for three weeks from Monday 17 December – Friday 4 January 2019

Occasional Care

Bookings for Occasional Care will open for January 2019 on Monday 26 November

Open - Monday 7 January – Wednesday 30 January

Monday, Wednesday & Friday from 8.30-3.30pm for children 8wks – 6yrs.

STEM for Girls - New Progam!

Thanks to funding from the City of Cockburn through the 'Cockburn Creates' initiative and in partnership with Meerilinga and Engineering for Kids we will be providing heavily subsidised Science programs for Girls over the next 6 months! Join the facebook group and be the first to find out information about the workshops and how you can be involved!

January Workshops;

Monday 14 January 9am-12noon - Junior Engineers (age 4-7 years)
Wednesday 16 January 9am-12noon - Apprentice Engineers (age 7-10 years)
Friday 18 January 9am-12noon - Master Engineers (age 10-14 years)

The age brackets have been designed to allow some flexibility so you can choose the day that works best for you and your children if you have a child who is 7 or 10 years.
