Volunteer Opportunity to join the Yangebup Progress Association! 

We are creating a new vibrant residents group for our community. Come along and learn more, refreshments provided - tonight 6-7pm. 

Elder Abuse Awareness Day is on Saturday, 15 June. Yangebup Family Centre are committed to empowering seniors to understand their rights, stay active, remain connected to the community and live the life they desire.  

You are warmly invited to join us for an informal session at the Centre where we will enjoy morning tea and an opportunity to connect with others.

We welcome you to bring crochet, knitted, or fabric purple flowers to contribute to our banner, creating a Purple Road to raise awareness of Elder Abuse. If you prefer, feel free to bring your crafting projects to work on during the session while enjoying morning tea.

Come along for crafting and chatting at the Yangebup Family Centre.
Previously Social Sewing, this group has expanded to include other crafts like crochet and knitting as programs and interests have expanded at the Centre. All levels of experience are welcome.  These sessions do not include any formal tuition however it is a great place for sharing ideas and inspiration. Creche available for weekday sessions.

We would like to invite you to join us at a special fundraising Play Session and Morning Tea we are holding for Marissa Verma from Bindi Bindi Dreaming, who has been battling an aggressive infection for over a year.

For those of you who haven’t had the pleasure of meeting Marissa, she has been a regular visitor, teacher and all-round inspiration at the Centre for many years.  Many of the Noongar recipes and craft activities we run in our programs are due to Marissa’s input and inspiration. 

Now, it’s our turn to give back. Please join us for a bush tucker-inspired morning tea, complete with children's activities and a raffle. All proceeds, including entry fee, will go to Marissa’s GoFundMe - https://gofund.me/349b8366

As a parent it's essential to know how to respond in an emergency. Attend this Heart Beat Club CPR and first aid course, designed specifically for parents of young children. Don't miss this opportunity to refresh your skills or learn something new! The aim of the Heart Beat Club is to develop the life-saving skill of resuscitation and first aid in our community. This is a three hour workshop, there are no assessments and a certificate is not provided. Tea and Coffee provided. Creche available.
